For students to maximize the benefits of this course, we recommend attendees have:
- Previously attended Level 1 PLC training program or have received previous PLC training.
This course covers advanced communications and ladder logic instructions. Throughout the course, students will work with existing Studio 5000 projects to troubleshoot advanced instructions used in the logic. The use of special software tools used for updating or replacing hardware components will be covered as well.
TOPICS COVERED IN ALLEN BRADLEY LEVEL 2 COURSE
- Hardware – Review hardware configuration to match equipment, selection of correct module from the catalog, if necessary, when replacing modules or modifying the system.
- Effective troubleshooting - Using fault codes displayed on the controller, I/O diagnostic screens to identify failures and repair. Use search and cross reference to troubleshoot induced faults.
- Use Online/Offline Troubleshooting Tools to analyze advanced instructions in existing logic circuits to recover and restore proper machine functionality.
- Hardware replacement procedures - use of BootP to assign IP addresses when replacing communication modules. Use of Control Flash for Firmware upgrades when replacing modules when necessary.
- HMI- Use FactoryTalk (FT View) to verify/setup the HMI Human Machine Interface. Use FT View to download the PanelView application. Test the HMI operation. Create the HMI downloadable application file when HMI replacement is required.
- Troubleshooting System Faults- Students will trouble system faults, identify root cause and take correct action to assure system can run parts.
